Mime Club 5 years

Lord Ganesha is very fond of  balls of rice flour with a sweet core. On one of His birthdays (Ganesh Chaturthi) he was going around house to house accepting offerings. Having eaten a good number of these, He set out moving on His mouse at night. Suddenly the mouse stumbled on seeing a snake and as a result Ganesha fell down. His stomach burst open and all the food came out. But Ganesha stuffed them back into His stomach and, tied the same snake around his huge tummy. Seeing all this, the moon had a hearty laugh. This unseemly behaviour of the moon annoyed Ganesha immensely and cursed moon that anyone who looks at the moon of Ganesha's birthday will surely earn a bad name, censure or ill-repute.

4 years back on a Ganesh Chaturthi day, a
club(or should it be mentioned explicitly "a bunch of clubs in BITSGoa") seems to have looked at the moon... and as the Lord said,
" Whenever entertainment level falls and number of flop shows grow the Almighty reveals His presence! The Supreme though unborn and undying, becomes manifest in human form to overthrow the forces of boredom and give justice to DOS ;)"

The performer, The Good ,The Bald and The Ugly

Disclaimer : All characters in this blog are real and any resemblance anyone living of dead is purely intentional.

The performer
I do not need to tell you who this guy is. The biggest and brightest performer of mime club. The person who won appreciation from even the most hostile person in the campus. But what makes him an awesome performer is the question. I feel his tummy has more expressions than his face. As we say, let the belly do the miming. He is truly an amazing performer and a "true gentleman". With the amount of English words flowing out of his mouth, two years of working under him has given me enough preparation to perform well in GRE.
A thorough gentleman , he always insisted on outperforming himself in every way, everytime. Once he described his views abut mime club after certain number of years, he said " It should be like Opera". I can guarantee him that we are on the track .....
He is "the performer".. \m/

The Good
People call him Professor, rightly so because he preaches. Should n't we call him a priest? A person who sets high standard for himself. He is an idealist. A combination of a High Performance Super Computer , Mahatma Gandhi, Hitler , Mussolini, Obama (people i am running out of names....) , I cant follow with more names. Admitting the fact that he is the most awesome person the world has ever seen(just telling what he feels).
The title good refers to the fact that this person is never angry. With a totally cool head( i think Zero Kelvin is the temperature of his head) , he drives the direction part of mime club. With his writing pad and the diagrams and impeccable patience he made sure that things are ready in time. His greatest ambition was to make a mime which would drive one of the biggest industries in america to extinction. I am glad that we still have that plan.

Kudos to prof... The Good

The Bald
First of all apologies for the title.. But this is the awesomest person in the club. During practice we can see him running around the basement area. Three years of brainstorming for the club has eventually turned him bald. If prof was the idealist, he was our idea man. I think if he was the model for IDEA we would have been saying "What an Idea Sirjee?" almost every second. The flow of ideas , good and bad where so frequent that sometimes he had to keep it with himself
because with those many ideas he can be the next victim of an abduction by Al Qaaeda.
The mimes which i have been a part of , there has been a contribution from this guy in each and every scene. I remember when he was in PS i used to call him and describe each and every scene of each mime, and he used to suggest ideas.
The bald, brainy IAS officer :)

The Ugly
Ugly was the role he played in the club. He was strict and enforced the discipline. Even I fall into the category of ugly.He made sure that there was no time wasted on petty things and people reach on time, practice sessions were fruitful because he was there. The angry young man of the mime club. With his busy schedule of handling two degrees, going home every month and rigorous study schedule, he came out clean and successful . Just do not have words to describe him..
The Ugly... The manager...

Hope you enjoyed the piece...

A Toast

Its good to start blogging on an auspicious occasion. Its the day on which two of the best performers of mime club were born. Shardul and Pavitra. This day is so important for mime club. I would like to dedicate this blog to Pavitra, because of the wonderful person she is and being such a good senior.

She was not just a member for the club, she was the one who gave idea for the superstition mime which was the first professional mime performed by our club which won the first prize in Waves 2007. From there onwards she has been phenomenal for the club. She has always made the discussions lively with her exuberant nature and with her creative ideas. The fact is that she knew her limitations and performed well within her which most of us do not do. And thats the sign of a great actor. Her small bursts of anger always reminded us that she is a senior. Of all her roles i liked the one she performed in Waves 2008 Inaug, the daadi in Kyunki Saans Bhi kabhi bahu thi... She was excellent in that and her role will be remembered forever. Her occasional "Ayyoooo" was always quoted by sagar as a mean to make fun of her. The friendship between pavi and sagar is worth mentioning here. They were friends who fought more than anyone else in the club. Both were highly appreciative of each other. I always felt that they were one of the best friendships that i have seen in mime club.

This describes pavitra the actor in mime club, but there is an awesome personality in this girl. She gets angry occasionally, but she always took what we said in the right sense. I remember her not talking to me for a week or so because i made fun of her. But after that seldom we had fights. There is a pic of mime club in which she has put her hands on my head like i am her child... :D , Whenever i see that picture it reminds me of the good time we all had spend together. I was so fortunate because she was also comp sci like me. She was very supportive in case of studies and always helped with valuable advice when i was in trouble which i often did :D. Getting close to her is a step by step process and i think it takes a lot of time to accomplish that. I was fortunate enough for that. Once she starts liking you then she will appear very different to you. Same was the experience with me as well. She never said no for anything I asked.

Describing Pavitra the person will take me a long time. Today when she is away in US, this is the best i can do for her, an indirect way of telling her that we miss her a lot. I am confident that she will reach her dreams and its just a matter of time before she reaches the helm... So here is a toast for Pavitra from Mime Club... God Bless you and let you never taste failure anywhere in your life :)
